A Little About Me

I’m a husband to my SMOKING HOT bride, Kari, and a doggo father to our fur baby, Marley. I’m a musician and perform as a guitarist and aux for the band, “burke.” I’m a wannabe pitmaster, a lover of house plants and a champion of non-traditional sports (I’ll kick your ass in a game of pingpong or corn hole #midwestblood). On the weekends, you’ll likely catch us kayaking on the lake, exploring the California coast, cheering for Sacramento sports (go King’s and Sac Republic!!!), frequenting a local brewery, hiking in the woods or eating our weight in Mexican food.

I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and came to Sacramento, CA in 2023 to be part of a church plant and to be closer to some family that are here in town. I’m new-ish to the film community and eagerly looking for ways to get plugged in. I’m also trying to get used to saying “THE” before every highway number…

Starting in middle school, I served multiple times a month in a large church on various tech teams. I learned all about operating broadcast cameras and switching video for IMAG, directing/producing services and front of house engineering. I also gained a ton of music, live performance and worship leading experience. I served on staff as a Production Assistant for a couple years once I was old enough to be hired.

Like most Camera Guys, I started my video career in weddings. I had a friend who was shooting weddings while I was in college and he offered to bring me on some of his shoots. One day while chatting with my barber (back when I had hair growing on my head instead of my face), we were talking about weekend plans and I mentioned I would be capturing a wedding. We talked about his marketing plans and he then asked me to make a commercial for his shop. I had only captured weddings to that point and had never edited video…but I was excited to give it a shot. I had so much fun in the process that I formed my own LLC, Agape Media, before even delivering him the final product, because I knew I wanted to capture more stories.

10 years later, I’m a little wiser…a little less hairy…I’ve made tons of mistakes and gained so much from the experiences. But I’m so grateful for and blessed by the journey, and blown away at how God has used my life as a small piece of capturing hundreds of stories, and helping share those messages with folks around the world.
